With state election commissioner Mira Pandey making it loud and clear that the poll panel will make the panchayat poll notification this week, the onus is now on the Mamata Banerjee government to mobilize armed police from other states to meet the shortfall going by the high court guideline.

State officials may have another round of discussion with the state election commissioner on Thursday over availability of forces and their deployment in booths and sectors for free and fair polls. The SEC is also working on the list of sensitive and highly sensitive booths based on inputs from DMs and SPs and will send it to the government on Wednesday.
